Using YouTube to Enhance Lessons

It's amazing all the great educational videos you can find on YouTube. In my 8th grade physical science class we are learning about archimedes principle. Look at this great video that explains how objects are able to float.

Technology in the Classroom

I was lucky enough to be one of the classrooms in our building to have a Promethean Board. This board is a great way to enhance my lessons and it allows me to integrate many different forms of social media into my classroom.
The middle school I teach at is relatively small. Our entire middle school has less than 80 students. I'm the only science teacher in our building and I prep for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. 6th Grade is a general science class, 7th grade is life science, and 8th grade is physical science. Having three different preps a day can be challenging, but it's nice to be able to switch things up throughout the day.
Teaching middle school science is a dream come true. I love being able to develop lessons that help students get excited about what they are learning. The best part about my job is that my students still find my jokes funny!
